I miss these guys. I miss wanting to play the Roches over and over again, I guess. Caught "The Troubles" this morning. Add Comment This came out of nowhere, but today I have "El Paso," one of the many excellent Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs by Marty Robbins. I have this album, of course. One little kiss, and Falina, good bye. Lonnie Donegan singing "The Midnight Special," which is not as good as Leadbelly but way better than Fogerty. But none is as good as Stan Freberg as Lonnie Donegan singing "The Rock Island Line." Well, it makes a difference to the sheep. "Our years put together counted 30." Except for the harmonica, this song is a sweet adolescent romance. "Try for the Sun" Donovan. Mary Travers looks a little Paris Hilton-y in this video. Earnest folk singing, sure, but you have to love the sweetness. "Miss Otis Regrets" This exact version. All day. Had this for two days now. Such a pretty melody. "Urge for Going," Joni Mitchell. I don't care what it is, but it's my earworm today. Most of "Army Dreamers" this morning. Especially the gun cocking. | Little TunesEvery morning — or just about — I wake up with some snatchlet of music in my head.
