Got "Patricia" again. Here's two-fer from YouTube: a slowish version of "Patricia" and "El Ruletero" with Perez Prado himself. Add Comment The song today is "Patricia" and every time I hear it I think of La Dolce Vita, which naturally makes me think of French & Saunders. Here's a bit of both. No one can touch F&S. Manha de Carnival this morning. Fits the beautiful weather, the bright blue sky, and the quiet early morning in the city. Like a Perez Prado record skipping. Here's "Mambo #8" to get you started. Couldn't find the scene from "La Dolce Vita" with the version that's running through my head, but this is pretty close. "Summer Samba," Walter Wanderley. at around 00:00:36 of "April in Portugal" by Perez Prado. It took me about a dog-walking mile to identify the exact tune. This song's all over the place. Enjoy. Summer Samba this morning. I think I had this exact song rambling around my head this time last year. Huh. Woke up with the mambo version (Perez Prado), but now have a LOT of versions, thanks to the Intertubes. Look! Julie London. And the Ventures, which unfortunately, is turning out to be the "Perfidia" that's sticking. Curse you, Mosrite! |
