The song today is "Patricia" and every time I hear it I think of La Dolce Vita, which naturally makes me think of French & Saunders. Here's a bit of both. No one can touch F&S. Manha de Carnival this morning. Fits the beautiful weather, the bright blue sky, and the quiet early morning in the city. Like a Perez Prado record skipping. Here's "Mambo #8" to get you started. Couldn't find the scene from "La Dolce Vita" with the version that's running through my head, but this is pretty close. I started out with some annoying Depatie-Freleng brass stabs, but they morphed into "Spanish Flea," which stuck, thank god. "Summer Samba," Walter Wanderley. at around 00:00:36 of "April in Portugal" by Perez Prado. It took me about a dog-walking mile to identify the exact tune. This song's all over the place. Enjoy.
